I have been interested in and involved with various breeds of horses and ponies and various riding disciplines for over 25 years. I got my first pony, a Pony of the Americas (POA) mare, in the summer of 1989 and, since that time, I have owned, loved, trained, ridden or driven, shown, and occasionally bred everything from Arabians and Half-Arabians to American Quarter Horses, American Paint Horses, and Appaloosas to Morgans, American Saddlebreds, and Hackney Ponies to Shetland Ponies and Miniature Horses. I have enjoyed dabbling in Western, Hunt Seat, Jumping, Dressage, Saddleseat, and Driving. I began formal riding lessons at a small Morgan barn in the summer of 1993 and I soon moved on to riding at a large American Saddlebred training and show facility. I had always been intrigued by driving and in 1998 I trained my American Quarter Horse mare to drive. I continued to ride and drive her for pleasure and show until the 2001 show season. I hope to get back to riding and driving again soon.
